AI Use Policy

TDisrupt uses artificial intelligence as an editorial support tool, not as a substitute for editorial judgment. Human editors remain responsible for the accuracy, context, sourcing and publication of our content.

Last updated: 25 September 2026

1. Purpose

TDisrupt may use AI tools to support editorial and operational workflows. This policy explains where we use them and the rules we follow. It sits alongside our Editorial Policy.

2. Where AI may be used

  • Research assistance.
  • Summarisation.
  • Transcription.
  • Drafting support.
  • Grammar and editing.
  • Data analysis.
  • Headline and metadata suggestions.
  • Image generation or enhancement, where appropriate.

3. Human responsibility

AI does not independently decide what gets published. A human editor is responsible for reviewing and approving everything we publish, whether or not AI was involved.

4. Fact-checking

AI-generated claims must be verified before publication. AI output is never treated as a primary source, because it can be wrong, outdated or invented.

5. Sources

Where a factual claim depends on external information, we cite the original source rather than the AI tool that surfaced it.

6. Transparency

If AI materially contributes to a story, image, research report or analysis, we may disclose that contribution where relevant. Routine assistance, such as spellchecking or transcription, is not usually disclosed on each piece.

7. No fabricated content

We do not knowingly publish fabricated quotes, sources, statistics, people or events generated by AI. Anything that cannot be traced to a real source is removed before publication.

8. Sensitive topics

We apply stronger human review to high-impact subjects, including:

  • Finance and markets.
  • Digital assets.
  • Legal matters.
  • Security.
  • Healthcare.
  • Other topics where errors could cause real harm.

9. AI-generated images

We clearly label synthetic or AI-generated visuals when they could reasonably be mistaken for real photography or documentary evidence. We do not use AI imagery to misrepresent real events or real people.

10. Privacy and confidential data

We do not place confidential, private or sensitive information, such as source identities, unpublished material or personal data, into third-party AI tools unless appropriate safeguards are in place. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle personal data.

11. Corrections

AI-assisted content is subject to the same corrections standards as any other TDisrupt content. If you spot an error, email [email protected].
